After our brief stint at the pool, while we were enjoying our frozen treats on the patio of the frozen custard restaurant, a little girl came to a stop a few feet in front of us. She looked up at us and then turned to her family who was sitting nearby.
"Mom! Is that Barbie?" she called out to her mother. My dear husband, without missing a beat, gleefully answered back. "No, but they both turned 50 this year!"
I don't know if it was the fact I was wearing a bathing suit with a sheer cover-up, the large neon-pink bag or the over-sized sunglasses (the ones that celebrities & old-ladies seem to favor). This was the first time I've ever been mistaken for a celebrity of such proportions. I was secretly overjoyed. There are far worse icons to be identified with.
I guess I must be channeling my inner Barbie. I suddenly feel the need for a beach house!
